Global asset manager has launched its US AllCap Opportunities Equity Strategy in Japan – the firm’s fifth Japan-domiciled fund.

The strategy seeks to find compelling opportunities primarily from across the market-cap spectrum in the broad US equity investment universe. It is managed by US-based portfolio manager Justin White (pictured), who has been with T Rowe Price for his entire 14-year investment career and has managed the $8.9 billion strategy since 2016. 

The vehicle is distributed through Mizuho Securities, Mizuho Bank and Mizuho Trust & Banking in Japan.

Based in the firm's US headquarters in Baltimore, White is supported by a global equity research team of 194 research professionals and a dedicated ESG research team to uncover attractively priced and fundamentally sound opportunities across sectors and markets.

The strategy's stock selection is guided by a four-pillar framework which emphasises companies' valuation, business quality, upside potential compared with market estimate, as well as acceleration of growth. 

“The US market remains a very interesting place to generate long-term return potential with its depth and diversity, and we think the US economy is more resilient than many market participants believe. Slower growth and tightening liquidity are likely to put pressure on company earnings and create performance dispersion. This presents an opportunity for us to unearth idiosyncratic and diversified investment ideas with our disciplined process,” White said.

T Rowe Price has been operating in Japan for 40 years since 1982.
